PURPOSE:To obtain the titled homogeneous polymer using a liquid titanium component without clogging a transportation pipe, by polymerizing ethylene in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a solution prepared by bringing a specific magnesium compound into contact with a specific titanium compound in a hydrocarbon solvent and an organomagnesium compound. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene or a mixture thereof with a >=C3 alpha-olefin is polymerized in the presence of a catalyst consisting of (A) a solution prepared by bringing a magnesium compound expressed by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are C1-20 hydrocarbon; R<3> is C2-5 alkylene; m is a number 0-0.2; n is a number 1-100) into contact with a titanium compound expressed by formula II (R<4> is C1-20 hydrocarbon; X<1> is halogen; P is a number 0-4) and (B) an organoaluminum compound expressed by formula III (R<5> is C1-8 hydrocarbon; X<2> is halogen; q is a number 1-3) at >=125 deg.C under >=200kg/cm<2> pressure. |
