PURPOSE:To obtain the image forming device where wasteful image formation due to setting error, etc., of an original can be evaded. CONSTITUTION:Judgement of the front and the back of the original set to an original platen is carried out based on detected information of the reflected light quantity from a light quantity sensor 5 by a control means 10 during pre-scanning. When detected value is greater than a specified value, the original is judged to be 'back'. When it is the reverse, the original is judged to be 'front'. When it is judged to be 'front', main scanning is carried out and the image is formed. When it is judged to be 'back', warning to this effect is displayed on a display device 14 and copying actions such as original feeding action of an original feeding part 2, exposure scanning of an exposure scanning means 3, and image forming action of an image forming means 4 are stopped, and the main scanning is not carried out. Thus, the wasteful original feeding and the image formation due to the error in original setting, etc., can be evaded. |
