PURPOSE:To provide a TTL automatic dimming camera capable of always obtaining an apprepriate exposure regardless of the size of a photographic scene. CONSTITUTION:The TTL automatic dimming camera which can execute first flash photographing that the flash photographing is executed in the first photographic scene and second flash photographing that the flash photographing is executed in the second photographic scene narrower than the first photographic scene is provided with dimming means 13 and 53 capable of executing a first dimming action that the photometry of a first photometry area corresponding to the first photographic scene is executed at the time of flash photographing and the dimming is executed based on the result of the photometry and a second dimming action that the photometry of a second photometry area narrower than the first area is executed at the time of flash photographing and the dimming is executed based on the result of the photometry, a detection means 52 which detects whether the photographing is the first flash photographing or the second flash photographing and a control means 51 which makes the light control means 13 and 53 execute the first dimming action at the time of detecting the first flash photographing and makes them to execute the second dimming action at the time of detecting the second flash photographing. |
