PURPOSE:To remarkably, improve the degree of freedoms when an optical recording medium is optically designed. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium has a recording layer and a dielectric layer on a substrate. The dielectric layer contains a composite compound containing at least chalcogen compound, fluoride and carbon (C). Accordingly, since an internal stress generated in the dielectric layer can be reduced, a mechanical deformation such as warpage is small and mechanical characteristics are excellent. Further, adhesive strength of the dielectric layer and the recording layer is excellent. Peeling, a crack of the film are eliminated. Long term reliability is obtained. In the case of an optical recording medium which can be repeatedly recorded and erased, repeatability of recording/erasing is satisfactory. In addition, the refractive index of the dielectric layer can be controlled. |
