STAR RING COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To eliminate signal interference from a node of a pre-stage of the star ring communication equipment and to increase the degree of freedom of the design of the communication equipment. CONSTITUTION:A multi-optical switch of a center node of the star ring communication system is provided with optical switches 71-74 switching a path for a signal from a pre-stage node and a signal from a connected node, with optical monitors 81-84 detecting a level of an optical signal from the connected node, and optical switch control circuits 91-94 implementing changeover control to send the signal from a pre-stage node to a node of a post-stage when a signal does not come from the node to be connected for the optical switch path with the output of the optical monitor.
