PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method, which can accurately estimate the PSF (point spread function) unique to each lens.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus according to the present invention includes an image pickup element, an image extraction unit, a reference image generation unit, an image correction unit, and an estimation unit. The image pickup element images a diagram on a predetermined chart, and converts the optical image formed by the optical system into electric signals. The image extraction unit extracts the formed image representing the diagram on the chart from the image formed by the electric signals. The reference image generation unit generates a reference image corresponding to the diagram on the chart. The image correction unit corrects one of the formed image and the reference image on the basis of the information related to the distortion aberration of the optical system. The estimation unit estimates the point spread function so that the image obtained by applying the point spread function to the reference image approximates to the formed image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
