PURPOSE:To improve the yield rate of a product without reducing the opening rate of a display surface by sealing and combining, through a rare gas a translucent front surface base to a rear surface base which has barrier ribs and the like integrally together with an anode and a cathode. CONSTITUTION:A rear side base 1 is composed by providing integrally a grid form of lower layer barrier rib 41 superposed on plural anode 3A provided parallel each other on an insulating base 1 at equal intervals, and arranged its part in the direction crossing at right angle to the anodes 3A; plural cathodes 6 provided to superpose the lower barrier rib 41 and in the direction crossing at right angle to the anodes 3A; and an upper layer barrier rib 42 to cover the cathodes 6 partially. And by sealing and combining a translucent front side base 2 to the rear side base 1 through a rare gas, the positioning can be carried out accurately, and the assembly work can be carried out in a shorter time. And when a filter 8 or a phosphor is formed on the base 2, the work can be carried out easily and at high accuracy, because an electrode and the like are not provided. |
