<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of a magnetic tape by preventing tape pass from being concentrated to a specific part of the tape. CONSTITUTION:A volume label 1-2, a header label 2-1, a trailer label 2-6, and a file mark 2-8 are written after a recording start position 1-1 of a tape 1 to record each file. The frequency in use of the tape 1 is written in and read out from the volume label 1-2 by a use frequency write and read means 21, and the frequency in use is counted by a counting means 22, and 1 is added to the frequency in use at each time of using the tape 1, and it is given to the use frequency write and read means 21. A dummy block 4-1 is written after the recording start position 1-1 of the tape 1 in accordance with the frequency in use by a dummy block write means 23. Thus, the recording position on the tape 1 is shifted.</p> |
