PURPOSE:To suppress a change in the size of an object in the mode changeover of the video camera having the hand blur correction function. CONSTITUTION:When a mode changeover means 13 is operated, an area size designation means 12 revises a video image extraction area size. An optical zoom correction means 7 operates an optical zoom mechanism 1 via a zoom control means 6 in interlocking with the revision in the area size to make the size of an object image with respect to the image pickup area coincident with a change in the video image extract area size thereby making the relative size of an object image with respect to the video extract area constant.
