RESIDUAL STRESS ESTIMATION METHOD AND RESIDUAL STRESS ESTIMATION DEVICE

Provided are a residual stress estimation method and a residual stress estimation device that are capable of setting a suitable analysis range without being affected by user experience. The residual stress estimation device displays analysis results from analysis of strain arising in a structure, without using measurement values for the structure. The user determines the position and size of the analysis range on the basis of the analysis results and enters into the residual stress estimation device: the determined position and size of the analysis range; and the measurement value for the residual stress for cut-off pieces at the measurement point for the structure. The residual stress estimation device: estimates the inherent strain distribution in the analysis range so as to approximate the inherent strain distribution obtained from the input measurement value for residual stress in the cut-off pieces; and estimates the residual stress of the structure on the basis of the inherent strain.
