A sighting device for an armoured vehicle equipped with a weapon (3) mounted on a turret 1. the sighting axis 7 of the sighting device being parallel to the direction (3a) of the weapon, comprises a telescope 5 fixed to the gun, an optical deflecting means 9 and an eyepiece arm 10 along which an operator observes through an eyepiece 17. The device also comprises a redirecting means 6 which is cooperable with the telescope 5 to achieve a vertical displacement of the sighting axis. The optical deflecting means 9 is integral or coupled with the gun so that its axis of rotation is substantially aligned with an axis of rotation (4) of the gun. the eyepiece arm (10) then being substantially fixed with respect to the turret 1. The redirecting means 6 is a mirror or a mono- or multi-reflection prism and can be placed in front of and above the axis of rotation of the gun. The eyepiece arm 10 extends through armour 20(b) placed behind the telescope 5, forward protection being provided by armour 20(a). <IMAGE> |
