PURPOSE:To make possible the thermal recording of data using a compact, low output and high thermal sensitivity laser and thereby minimize the tint contamination of a first coat by adding to a thermal layer an infrared absorption color with outstanding infrared laser absorption efficiency and the high efficiency to convert the energy of a laser beam to a thermal energy, regardless of a decrease in the absorption of a visible light. CONSTITUTION:A thermal layer consists of at least, a substantially colorless coloring component A, a substantially colorless coloring component B which becomes tinted through a chemical reaction with the coloring component A provided on a support. Next, at least, one of the coloring components is microcapsulated and at the same time, the infrared absorption color is such as expressed by formulae I and/or II. (R is H, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group or a benzene ring condensed into/a pyridine ring; R1 and R2 are independently H, an alkyl group or an aryl group; Z is an atomic group required for completing a conjugation with the N of a pyroline nucleus with O or N at the terminal). |
