PURPOSE: To obtain a mitogen derived from an yeast, having a mitogenesis inducing activity and useful for the treatment of an epidermal exfoliation and a wound such as a laceration and a puncture. CONSTITUTION: This pure mitogen is derived from an yeast and has >=300000 dalton molecular weight measured by a gel permeation chromatography usder a natural condition. The above mitogen is preferably obtained by extracting it from live yeast cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae with ethanol at 70 deg.C for >=3hr, cooling and filtering the extract, clearing the filtrate with a charcoal, etc., and then purifying with a dialysis and a size exclusion high performance liquid chromatography. |
