PURPOSE:To provide a catalyst of ester exchange reaction which is useful for manufacturing an aromatic carbonic acid diester by ester exchange reaction of a carbonic acid diester and a phenolic compound, and manufacturing method of the aromatic carbonic acid diester using the catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst for ester exchange reaction prepared from at least a dialkyltin is used. Ester exchange reaction of an alkylcarbonic acid diester and a phenolic compound is carried out in the presence of the catalyst for ester exchange reaction to obtain an aromatic carbonic acid diester. Consequently, the catalyst for ester exchange reaction in the mentioned reaction has high catalytic activity and the aromatic carbonic acid dimethyl ester is obtained efficiently. Also, a side reaction can be controlled. |
