The electrode structural body of electron gun for cathode ray tube consists of cylindrical sleeve (3), heater (5') inserted to the sleeve (3), cap (2) placed on the top of the sleeve (3), electron emitting material (1) with which the upper surface of the cap (2) is coated, and an interstice formed between the sleeve (3) and the heater (5'), which has a thickness of 27-31 % of the inner diameter (D2) of the sleeve (3). The controlled distance between the sleeve and the heater of electrode structural body can improve the overshooting caused by thermal expansion.
