PURPOSE:To provide a ceramic material having excellent strength at high temp. as well as excellent strength and fracture toughness at room temp. and hardly reducing the strength even at such high temp. as >=1,500 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A matrix phase made of a zirconate type multiple oxide represented by a general formula M2O.yZrO2, e.g. SrO.ZrO2 is reinforced with carbon fibers to obtain the objective fiber-reinforced ceramics. |
