<p>PURPOSE:To provide a W/O-type emulsion ink free from the problems such as the increase of print density with time, flying of paper, set-off of ink, etc., and suitable for mimeographic printing. CONSTITUTION:The objective W/O-type emulsion ink for mimeographic printing is composed of an oil phase and a water phase. The oil phase is produced by compounding a colorant (e.g. carbon black), 2-8wt.% (based on the total ink) of a resin (e.g. rosin-modified phenolic resin) and a surfactant (e.g. sorbitan higher fatty acid ester) to a solvent consisting of 10-30wt.% of a volatile solvent having a first drop point of 150-210 deg.C (e.g. Isoper G, product of Exxon Chemical) and 90-70wt.% of a non-volatile solvent (e.g. motor oil). The ink has an oil phase/water phase ratio of (20-40%)/(80-60%) and a viscosity of 28-38mm (measured by spread meter at 20 deg.C).</p> |
