<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the shock due to the joining of an electromagnetic clutch by joining the electromagnetic clutch and applying motor electric current if the steering speed is zero and the car speed is smaller than a prescribed value after the lapse of a prescribed time from the increase of the steering torque at maximum value. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 9 for controlling a dc motor 13 for steering and an electromagnetic clutch 14 calculates the electric current value from the outputs of a steering torque measuring means 904 and a car speed measuring means 905 by an electric current calculating/driving means 906, and drive- controls the dc motor 13. Further, each max, value in the right or left direction of the detected steering torque is detected 908, and the lapse time from the time point when maximum value is detected is measured by the first timer 909. Further, the lapse time from the reduction of the car speed less than a prescribed value is measured by the second timer 910, and when time-over is detected by one between the timers 909 and 910, if the car speed is less than the prescribed value, the electromagnetic clutch 14 is turned ON to execute joining.</p> |
