PURPOSE:To automatically measure the position of a welding point with high accuracy by photographing a still picture in the vicinity of the welding point by a camera set up above the welding point and carrying out picture processing to obtain the welding point position. CONSTITUTION:The still picture photographed by the camera set up above the welding point is fetched in an electronic computer system and subjected to digital picture processing to obtain the welding point position. As the picture processing method, the part darker than a specified density level is converted to eliminate noises of the picture, then, filtering processing is carried out to detect a horizontal line, gradation emphasis processing and binarization processing are carried out to obtain a binary picture and the welding point position is obtained. Consequently, the welding point position important in controlling a welding state of a resistance welded tube manufacturing line can be automatically measured with high accuracy. |
