PURPOSE:To provide a pretensioner in which an extension preventing mechanism to prevent extension of a webbing after being given tension is provided. CONSTITUTION:In a pretensioner constituted of the pulling means 10 of the tension element W of a sheet belt device, clamp means 30, 36, and a link mechanism to operate the clamp means in its sandwiching action, it is constituted of a roller 40 to bring the link mechanism in contact with the tension element W and rotate, a roller holder 44 to transmit displacement of the roller 40 to the clamp means, and a restraining means 42 to hold the roller 40 in a fixed position so as to restrain the displacement. Restraint by the restraining means 42 is released so as to displace the roller 40, by rotation of the roller 40 due to displacement of the tension element W in the extension direction, the clamp means is operated through the roller holder 44, and the tension element W is sandwiched so as to be prevented from its extension. |
