The invention relates to a method and device for plotting or duplicating a graphical representation on a fixable thermal support. The method comprises a phase of developing the graphical representation on the surface of the support, followed by a phase of fixing the representation and is characterised in that the developing phase comprises a selective exposure of the support to ultraviolet radiation, with a view to inducing photodissociation of one at least of the reactive compounds of this support in predetermined areas thereof intended to remain free of any graphical representation, whereas the fixing phase comprises an operation for heating the entire support, to a temperature sufficient to allow the formation of a dye in the areas not exposed to the ultraviolet radiation, by reaction of the reactive compounds present in these areas.
