The invention relates to a connecting element between two panels (5, 6) respectively articulated with a third panel (2) by mutually perpendicular folding lines, this connecting element (8) and these panels being adjoining and made of a semi-rigid material such as corrugated cardboard, the said connecting element being articulated by a folding line (9, 10) on a portion of the length of the free contiguous edges of the panels which are not articulated with each other, substantially starting from their junction point, and being divided into two sections by a folding line (11) starting from this junction point and forming an equal angle with each of the two contiguous edges, in such a way as to be able to apply the two sections separated by this line (11) against one another, by folding the connecting element (8) about the latter in a bellows fold. According to the invention, this connecting element comprises a second folding line (12) connecting the free ends of the folding lines (9, 10) by which this connecting element is articulated with the contiguous panels, in such a way as to allow the sections of this element separated by this second folding line (12) to be folded against one another, in order to double its thickness and thus to increase its mechanical strength in this position. <IMAGE>
