MANUFACTURE OF CORK STOPPER

PURPOSE:To easily shape the synthetic resin film of different characteristics by a method wherein a synthetic resin cup for receiving therein a cork stopper (cork material) is provided with a thin circular made of synthetic resin and different in characteristic from the cup partially attached thereto and the cup is fused to the core material by heat and pressure application. CONSTITUTION:A cup 1 for receiving therein a short circular core material 4 having a predetermined diameter and height is made of a thin synthetic resin film of a relatively low fusing point and the cup is packed with the core material 4. A thin circular film 3 larger than the outer bottom surface of the cup 1 and having a higher fusing point than that of the synthetic resin of which the cup 1 is made is temporarily attached to the outer bottom surface of the cup 1. The core material 4 thus treated is then introduced into a metal die to be heated under pressure in order that cup material may be fused on at least peripheral surface 5 and liquid contact surface 6 of the core material 4 to form a first synthetic resin film 7 thereon and that a second synthetic resin film 8 may be bonded to the first synthetic resin film 7 over a part of the peripheral surface 5 of the core material 4 and the liquid contact surface 6 thereof. A grip H is connected to this cork member to obtain a cork stopper.
