PURPOSE:To detect registering slippages of special colors on the basis of a reference color by a method wherein cross register marks for colors are printed together with a pictorial pattern by a multiple-color printer and register marks for the special colors are provided at positions away from register marks for four colors. CONSTITUTION:An area sensor 2 is equipped with a measuring window 4, auxiliary lighting 6, color camera 7 and others, and register marks are taken in a color image by the color camera 7 together with perimeter of the register marks. The color image taken is switched by a switch 11, transmitted from a wired or wireless transmitter 9 or 10 and input to an image processing arithmetic circuit 15 via a receiver 14 of a controller 13 to perform registering. At this time, the register marks that contain a registering reference color and special colors are separately provided by the number of the special colors at positions away from the register marks containing four colors of three primary colors, blue, red and yellow, plus gray. Thereby, registering slippages of the special colors on the basis of the reference color can be detected. |
