PURPOSE:To improve color development sensitivity and the preservation stability of a color image by composing a thermal recording material which contains a specific chemical compound expressed by a formula with an electron-donative compound and an electron-receptive compound. CONSTITUTION:First, specified dosages of an electron-donative coloring compound, an electron-receptive compound and chemical compounds expressed by formulae I and II are ground and dispersed in a water-soluble binder using a ball mill, and then these chemical compounds are mixed to prepare a coating liquid for a thermal coloring layer. This coating liquid is applied to the surface of paper, a plastic sheet or a synthetic paper using an air knife coater, and the coat is dried to form a thermal recording layer. Thus a thermal recording material is obtained. The electron-donative coloring compounds are, for example, a triarylmethane compound, a diarylmethane compound and a rhodamine-lactam compound. The electron-receptive compounds are, for example, 4-tert-butylphenol, 4-tert-octylphenol, etc. |
