PURPOSE: To provide a drill and chisel tool in which the life of the whole tool is improved by eliminating overload of various parts in operation. CONSTITUTION: The drill and chisel tool which has a steel base 1 has a welded joint 4 which secures a cutting tool 2 made of hard alloy in the recess 3. The cutting tool 2 is secured at the base 1 in such manner as to avoid generation of the peak value of shearing stress at the edge region of the recess 3. For this purpose, a stress relief notch is provided, and the thickness of the welded joint 4 is increased toward the end. |
