PRODUCTION OF IMAGE RECORDING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To simply produce an image recording material wherein a protective recording material wherein a protective layer is formed on the surface of an image receiving layer having a gradation data-containing image and a character data-containing image by a short process. CONSTITUTION:At first, a gradation data-containing image is formed to the image receiving layer of a base material for an image recording material using a heat-diffusible dye. Next, a thermal transfer sheet wherein a hot-melt ink layer and a transparent protective layer are provided on the same support and a thermal head different from the thermal head used in the formation of the gradation data-containing image are used to produce an image recording material wherein a transparent protective layer is formed to the surface of the image receiving layer having a character data-containing image and the gradation data-containing image. An ultraviolet curable coating solution is further applied to the surface of the image receiving layer containing the transparent protective layer and irradiated with ultraviolet rays to form an ultraviolet cured resin layer.
