PURPOSE:To provide an electrode for electric discharge machining capable of reducing electrode consumption during electric discharge machining, preventing capacitor effect formed between the electrode and a workpiece, and improving the surface roughness of the workpiece. CONSTITUTION:This electrode for electric discharge machining is of conversion of a part or all of the surface of a graphite base member, which is machined, to silicon carbide and the silicon carbide comprises maunly beta type silicon carbide. |
