The ship is provided with appts. for emitting signals which correspond to the so-called signature of merchant ships, in that it emits acoustic, magnetic and pressure signals corresponding to the merchant ship`s signal. The ship is thus able to detonate mines by emitting these signals. In order to withstand the shocks caused by the explosion of the mines the ship is constructed from segments which include a bow segment (2), a stern segment (3) and a number of intermediate segments. The segments are fastened to each other by pivoted links which permit adjacent segment to slide and rotate to a limited degree relative to each other but hold the segments in their correct relative positions during normal conditions. ADVANTAGE - Ship which can withstand shock of explosion of mine.
