The image storage method involves the acquisition, storing and archiving of the images. All image related information is stored via an electronic archiving system and referenced to a verbal description and patient data. The text information is only displayed for its corresp. image. The system may be coupled to several medical image generators. Images may be viewed at a work station (2), originating either from an image generator or from the archives. A central controller (3) with memory for archiving purposes is provided. A separate controller (4) is linked to the central controller to drive the work-stations.
