The crutch has a tubular telescopic main body with a horizontal hand grip (3) approx. half way along its length. A pad (2) is positioned at the top of the crutch. The main body is coupled to a drive unit comprising a worm gear (9) and spindle nut (12). To adjust the length of the main body either the worm gear or spindle nut may be driven via a reversible electric motor (6). The patient may adjust the crutch height via a three way switch (22) near the hand grip. ADVANTAGE - Makes standing up easier for patient.
