This improved easy-to-open can lid contains a score for opening and a protective resin coated band. The score partitions an opening and the protective band is used to cover the score for opening and also the opposite ends of an opening tab situated at the opening. The protective resin coated band is formed of plastisol of vinyl chloride resins contg. at least one additive of the anchorage filler, tackifier and amino resin type. An organic resin is coated on the external surface of the lid. At least one part of the resin coated surface - the part where the protective resin coated band is provided, - should be non-adhesive to vinyl chloride resin. The oxides, hydroxides and carbonates of the periodic table group II metals are used as anchorage fillers as are also CaCO3, ZrO, MgO or their mixtures. The process for producing this easy-to-open can comprises three steps (1) forming a score for opening (2) applying the protective resin coating (3) attaching the opening tab.
