The apparatus corrects errors included in teletext information at high speed using simple circuit. It includes a data transmitting circuit (1) for receiving teletext data and sending it to a serial/parallel converter (2), a coding register (3) for coding the information bit data from the serial/parallel converter (2), an adder (5) for adding the parity bit data to the output of the coding register (3) and sending the added data to a syndrome register (6), and a clear control circuit (10) for clearing all sections according to the control of a time control circuit (9).
