Mixts. (I) are used for producing substrate system (II) for protecting the inside surfaces of concrete structures, esp. sewage pipes. (I) consists of 2 components (A) and (B). Also claimed is a process for protecting surfaces, by stirring mixt. (A/B) in a positive mixer, pouring into a mould and highly compacting on a shaking table to give (I) with max. thickness 10 (pref. 7mm), in the form of sheets for lining bases, walls or basins, or shells for lining pipes. Also claimed are substrate systems (II) consisting of sheets (2) or shells (7) provided with plastic final coatings (3) and firmly attached to the concrete (5) with a base layer (4). (A) pref. contains (A1) 46.94 wt.% crude epoxy resin, (A2) 11.73 wt.% TiO2, (A3) 9.38 wt.% of a prod. based on 3 mineral components, (A4) 4.69 wt.% silica, 2.34 wt.% alcohol, 1.4 wt.% toluene or xylene and (A5) 0.38 wt.% flow improver, with (A6) 23.14 wt.% modified aminoacid as hardener (B) contains (B1) quartz powder and (B2) silica sand, pref. 28 wt.% (B1) with particle size upto 0.08 mm, 26.50 wt.% (B2) with particle size 0.05-0.8mm, 26.50 wt.% (B2) with size 0.6-1.5mm and 19 wt.% (B2) with size 1.2-2.5mm. (A3) is a complex of mica, quartz and chlorite, (A4) is water-repellent and pyrogenic, (A5) is Si-contg. cationic surfactant or unplastifieable benzoguanamine-formaldehyde (BGF) resin. Ratio (A):(B) = 1:15. The mixt. for final coating (III) contains 47.13 wt.% (A1), 7.35 wt.% TiO2, 7.35 wt.% (A3), 7.35 wt.% (A4), 2.96 wt.% benzyl alcohol, 1.47 wt.% toluene or xylene, 5.88 wt.% Fe oxide and 0.29 wt.% (A5), with 20.22 wt.% hardener (A6). USE/ADVANTAGE - For permanently protecting inside of concrete pipes etc., from aggressive liqs.; w.r.t. other systems, (II) require less manual labour and use less plastic material, and therefore enable a considerable redn. in costs.
