The oblong structural element has a plastics wall with a first lower modulus of elasticity containing a layer of material with a second higher modulus of elasticity. This layer is provided either side of the system plane (12) which belongs to the structural element and along which the element has the same homogeneous properties. The layer passes through this system plane at least at one point. The cross-sections of the layer and of the plastics are inverse proportional functions of the active E-moduli of the cross-section of the plastics and layer. The layer is cohesive and pref. provided over the full surface areas. USE/ADVANTAGE - Economic environmentally friendly prodn. of support member with efficient use of resources.
