The arrester clamps a draughting head in a guide groove and consists of a tongue part movably fitted to the guide to move the arrester into an arrest position on the guide base or away from this. The web part (8) of the guide has a longitudinal slot (10) which tapers from the top side to the base (19) of the groove (9).The tongue (11) slides into the slot as the arrester (5) moves into the arrest position so that the tongue spreads the web out (8) at least in part and so clamps it between the two sidewalls (17,18) of the groove (9) thus locating it.
