PURPOSE:To facilitate the detachment of a process cartridge by means of simple configuration without increasing costs and to securely position and hold the process cartridge in the image forming device main body at the time of normal image-formation CONSTITUTION:When the process cartridge 120, constituted in such a manner that it is freely attached/detached to/from the main body, is attached to the main body 101, a drum gear (driven gear) 123 provided on the process cartridge 120 is caused to mesh with a driving gear 103 provided on the main body 101, and the driving gear 103 is rotated and driven by a drive motor 106, thereby driving the process cartridge 120. The drive motor 106 is controlled so that when the motor comes to a stop, it stops after reversely rotating only a fixed amount. Therefore, at the time of taking the process cartridge 120 out of the main body, only the driving gear 103 can be reversely rotated; thus, the process cartridge 120 can be easily taken out. |
