<p>PURPOSE:To enable a laminated type piezoelectric element to be enhanced in reliability and manufacturing efficiency by a method wherein a laminated body where an insulating layer has been formed is previously formed large in dimensions and then cut into two or more pieces. CONSTITUTION:A large number of piezoelectric material layers 1 and inner electrode layers 2 are stacked up, a protective layer 3 is provided to the upper and the lower end of a stacked body, a groove is alternately provided to the ends of the inner electrode layers 2 every other layer exposed at both side faces of the laminate body. Then, the laminate body is cut into pieces as prescribed in dimensions in a direction vertical to the lengthwise direction of an insulating layer 4 filled into the groove provided to it, whereby two or more laminate bodies to function as piezoelectric elements of required size can be obtained. An external electrode 5 is mounted on each of the laminate bodies obtained as above, the inner electrode layers are connected together, a lead wire 6 is led from the external electrode 5, lastly insulating coating resin is applied onto all the side face of the laminate body, and thus laminated type piezoelectric elements can be obtained.</p> |
