PURPOSE:To prevent a road from being displayed as if it were broken halfway by deciding that the border of a different-detail is present on a display and making a display of low-level detail in this case. CONSTITUTION:The display device 1 is controlled by a CPU 3 through an output interface 4 to display the map of a specific area according to map data stored in a ROM 2. Position information on this vehicle is inputted from vehicle data 6 to a CPU 3 through an input interface and stored in a RAM 5. The CPU 3 displays the position of this vehicle on a map according to this information. Map data stored in the ROM 2 are given levels A, B, and C corresponding to the degrees of detail and the CPU 3 judges whether or not the border of the levels is on the display device 1 and controls the display device 1 so that the lower level is displayed when the border is present on the display device 1. |
