<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic toner excellent in picture image characteristics, fixing property, storage stability, resistance to vinyl chloride plasticizer, electrification stability, etc., and to realize low cost by using a polyester in which secondary alcohols such as 2, 3-butane diol are used as diols for a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The binder resin contains such a polyester consisting of polyvalent carboxylic acids and polyhydric alcohols as the main structural component. The polyvalent carboxylic acids essentially consists of aromatic dicarboxylic acids. The polyhydric alcohols contain diols expressed by formula I. In formula I, R1 and R2 are independently alkyl groups of 1-3 carbon number. As for the polyvalent carboxylic acids, terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, etc., are used. As for polyhydric alcohols, aliphatic diols and/or alicyclic diols are preferably used. Thereby, the obtd. toner shows excellent storage stability which causes no blocking even in a humid and hot environment, high resistance to vinyl chloride plasticizer, and good light resistance and durability even when colored with dye, so that high picture quality can be obtd.</p> |
