<p>PURPOSE:To improve dispersibility of a colorant (pigment) in toner fine particles produced by emulsifying dispersion method by using a grafted resin for at least part of a binder resin for the toner. CONSTITUTION:In the process of producing a toner by emulsifying dispersion method, a binder resin and colorant (pigment) are first dissolved or dispersed in a nonwater org. solvent to prepare a resin soln. containing the colorant. By using a grafted resin for at least part of the binder resin, dispersibility of pigment in the soln. is significantly improved and a uniform dispersion state of pigment in the soln. is relatively easily and stably maintained for a long time. In this case, since the uniform and stable dispersion state of the pigment in the resin soln. containing the colorant can be formed, the pigment can be uniformly dispersed in toner fine particles by forming an emulsion by emulsifying and dispersing the resin soln. containing the colarant in a water-base dispersion liquid and then removing the water-insoluble org. solvent.</p> |
