PURPOSE:To save labor for preparing a useless dictionary, to compress a dictionary and to reduce memory capacity by translating the participle form of a verb dictionary in place of the adjective. CONSTITUTION:A dictionary 14 is composed of an analysis dictionary 14a to store information concerning the first inputted language, transformation dictionary 14b designating the verb of the second language as a translated word to the word of the first language, and generation dictionary 14c having a verb dictionary designated by the transformation dictionary 14b. All the processings at a translation part 13 are executed by referring to word information stored in the dictionary 14. When transforming the translated word in the second language corresponding to the word of the first language into the adjective derivative from the participle form of the verb, the verb of the second language is designated by the transformation dictionary 14b. The translation part 13 generates the adjective by using the participle form information of the verb generation dictionary 14c and translates this participle form in place of the adjective. |
