PURPOSE:To remove uneven density and to emphasize the edge of an image by adding differential density between the density of an objective image and the density of an image shifted for one picture element, and defining the added density as the density of one arbitrary picture element. CONSTITUTION:For an image signal, a hold circuit 1 stores the density of a first picture element (f) in each scan line. A signal outputted from a delay circuit 2 and the source image signal are transmitted to a subtraction circuit 3, and the source image signal and the image signal delayed for one picture element are subtracted so as to calculate a contrast image. This image is integrated by an integration circuit 4 and transmitted to a gate circuit 7 and based on a signal from a timing detection circuit 5, an integrated value is outputted. The signal from the gate circuit 7 is inputted to an integration circuit 9, integrated with the density signal of the first picture element (f) in each scan line from the hold circuit 1 as an initial value, and reproduced as an extremely sharp image emphasizing the edge. |
