Tool holder (9) for autolathes, in which the body of the tool holder has on its underside a projecting rib (11) which extends parallel to the axis (X) of the workpiece (2) to be machined and can be connected to a groove (7) which is made in a holding rest (3) of the machine and is orientated parallel to the axis of the workpiece. Furthermore, the holding rest (3) has grooves (12) arranged in parallel for accommodating the tool holder (9). The grooves (12) are orientated radially to the axis (X) of the workpiece (2) to be machined.
