PURPOSE:To automatically renew a character pattern owned by an output device in the case of changing a character pattern dictionary file in a host device by making the character pattern filed in the character pattern dictionary file in the host device and the character pattern owned by the output device consistent. CONSTITUTION:A character pattern eliminating instruction part is provided in the host device 1. Then, a registered character table 10 where a character code is stored is provided in the output device 2 in order to control the character pattern registered in the character pattern memory part 11 of the device 2. In the case of changing the content of the character pattern dictionary file 4 in the host device 1, the registration of the character is cancelled from the host device 1 through the character pattern eliminating instruction part. In the case of requiring the output of a changed character, read-in from the character pattern dictionary U is automatically performed by a character pattern registration part 8. |
