PURPOSE:To uniformly heat a food material conveyed in a pipe line by arranging hollow cylindrical electrode units and a spacer pipe unit therebetween in a series form in a space between an insulating pipe on the upstream side and an insulating pipe unit on the downstream side for forming part of the pipe line. CONSTITUTION:At least the inner peripheral surfaces of an insulating pipe unit 3 on the upstream side and an insulating pipe unit 4 on the downstream side forming part of a pipe line 2 for conveying a food material 1 having fluidity are electrical insulating surfaces. The first hollow cylindrical electrode unit 5, a hollow cylindrical spacer pipe unit 6 and the second hollow cylindrical electrode unit 7 are arranged between the insulating pipe units 3 and 4 in the aforementioned order so as to be mutually adjacent. The inside diameters of the pipe units 3, 4 and 6 and the electrode units 5 and 7 are the same so as to prevent stepped parts from occurring in the inner peripheral surface parts thereof. |
