COUPLING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To make it possible to transmit a message between a data circuit terminating equipment (DCE) and a local telephone set by providing a means supplying a DC current led to the telephone set to the coupler so as to allow the telephone set to send/receive voice message from/to a data terminal equipment(DTE) connecting to the DCE thereby connecting the DCE to a public telephone network. CONSTITUTION: The coupler 150 includes a means to supply a DC current to a local telephone set thereby allowing a microphone and a headphone of the telephone set to be used respectively for sending/receiving a voice message from a DTE connecting to a DCE. The coupler 150 is fitted movably to a basic unit 120 in a shape of a box by a multi-conductor means. The basic unit 120 provides a positive Vcc and a ground level to the coupler 150 and the levels are used for a local feeder circuit. Thus, the voice message is sent/received to/from the DTE connecting to the DCE.
