MAGNETIC RECORDING DISK AND PRODUCTION OF THE SAME

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording disk which has an excellent overwriting characteristic and traveling durability and enables digital data recording at a high density and a producing method thereof. CONSTITUTION:A nonmagnetic layer contg. conductive particles and a random oriented thin magnetic layer which consists of ferromagnetic metallic powder or hexagonal ferrite as ferromagnetic particles and has 0.85 orientation degree ratio and <=0.5mum thickness are formed in this order on a nonmagnetic base by applying the coating liquid for the magnetic layer on the nonmagnetic layer while the coating liquid of the nonmagnetic layer is wet. By incorporating a carbon black and fatty acid ester into the nonmagnetic layer, the traveling durability is enhanced.
