PURPOSE:To prevent originals from being exchanged rapidly and reduce the degree of damage of originals, by issuing paper supply start and original exchange signals, which are generated after confirming that the final copy has been stored in the fin, after the completion of jam correction in respect to the copying machine equipped with a document assorting unit and an automatic document handling unit. CONSTITUTION:A series of copies carried from copying machine main body 1 enters the first collator 2 and is moved step by step along the sheet storing bin row by vertically movable deflecting unit C, and it is returned to the first bin position when it reaches the fin position corresponding to the designated number of copies or the last bin position, thus gathering and sorting of copies are performed. After it is confirmed that the final copy for the same page original has been stored, the original exchange signal and the paper supply start permission signal are generated. If jam is detected on a basis of the detection time difference between sheet receiving detector 45 and deflecting part sheet detector 49, rotation of rollers other than a pair of receiving rollers 46 and a pair of ejecting rollers 49 is stopped to eject all following sheets to temporary tray 50. |
