<p>PURPOSE: To restrict exposure of products to oxygen by mixing an ethylenically unsatd. hydrocarbon and a transition metal catalyst and incorporating the composition into a layer such as film layer. CONSTITUTION: As the oxygen scavenger for scavenging oxygen from oxygen- sensitive products such as foods, drinks, etc., it is composed of about 1-99 wt.% of a substd. or unsubstd. ethylenically unsatd. hydrocarbon and 0.001-1 wt.% of a trnsition metal catalyst such as cobalt, manganese. The composition can be used in flexible or rigid monolayered or multilayered products and incorporated into a form such as film. Thus, exposure of products to oxygen is prevented and the composition is also usable for an active oxygen-interceptive agent.</p> |
